FULTON -- The Eldon Mustangs edged the Blair Oaks Falcons by one stroke Tuesday to win the Tri-County Conference boys golf championship at Tanglewood Golf Course.
Eldon won its second straight conference title, shooting a 300. Blair Oaks followed with a 301. The Mustangs and the Falcons combined to have five of the 10 all-conference golfers.
Blair Oaks led all teams with three all-conference golfers. Michael Atnip and Sam Closser led the Falcons, each tying for seventh place with a 2-over 74, while Logan Hoffman finished in a tie for ninth place with a 3-over 75.
Sam Kliethermes rounded out Blair Oaks’ team score with a 78 to finish 13th and Ryan Glavin posted an 81 to tie for 16th place out of 35 golfers.
Eldon’s Teagen Hull was the conference champion, shooting a 2-under 70.
California’s Will Boyd -- last year’s conference co-champion -- finished in a five-way tie for second place with a 1-under 71. Also carding a 71 were Southern Boone’s Levi Baumgartner, Hallsville’s Cameron Cox, Boonville’s Zach Espey and Eldon’s Cooper Toalson.
Southern Boone’s Kaden Massie was the final all-conference honoree, tying Hoffman for ninth place with a 75.
Rounding out Eldon’s team score were Zach Hull and Brody Rader, who placed 14th and 15th with a 79 and an 80, respectively. Luke Barchenski added an 81 to tie for 16th for the Mustangs.
Southern Boone was third in the team standings with a 313, California finished fourth with a 315 and Boonville took fifth place with a 319.
